Research Genral Opening to Any Film Genre.

Bedtime Stories: The opening starts are a mere 52 seconds where stories line is set. It starts with the min production companies opening sequence which is Disney’s opening a look round there magic kingdom. This is shown for 30 seconds out of the 52.

It then leads on to other production names that were included in making the movie. With the name of the movie called Bedtime Stories the titles are made to look like a pop-up book fitting in with the title of the movie and shows the audience that it is a family friendly movie. The other production names are shown for around about 3-4 seconds. For a new production name the page is turned also linking to the movie name. The characters on that page also hints what type of stories are going to be in the movie. E.g. Behind A Happy Madison there is two knights fighting which  shows that there is a scene where knights are involved.

In Bedtime Stories we have a voice over at 30 seconds sounding like a narrator which goes in hand in hand with the background of the opening which looks like a book. The narrator goes on to address the audience making them question who is the person talking. The dialog also has a joke in so the audience feel at easy and the character is show to be a bit of a joker. This also shows the genre of the movie to be comedy.

In class we all  drew out the opening of the movie we watched and discussed what the openings show and if they have any thing in common or did differently.
 Here is mine:

We then all said how are openings were common some people found that their opening sequence had the intuitional openings at the start of the movie but some found they had them at the end of the opening sequence. People also found that the title of the movie was revealed first and then gave production names where as other people found this the other way round.

In all I think titles are all shown differently due to the genre of the movie and the atmosphere the director want to create with the movie.
